A few people have asked about hotels nearby.
These are all about 10-15 minutes walk from the venue, and central:

If your a designated dropper offer when do we have to have them in for, my plan is to be there by 7:30 am.alikocho wrote:Make sure they make it by the September 7 deadline!pdtnc wrote:one to complete fermenting and another ready to bottle, followed by a week of warm conditioning it will be a couple of weeks before I post mine.
If this is not the case I will need to make arrangements
Re: 2012 UK National Homebrew Competition
We have access to the venue from 8am. I need the bottles from the drop-off points no later than 8.30am. I also need to know in advance which entries you have.rimski wrote:If your a designated dropper offer when do we have to have them in for, my plan is to be there by 7:30 am.alikocho wrote:Make sure they make it by the September 7 deadline!pdtnc wrote:one to complete fermenting and another ready to bottle, followed by a week of warm conditioning it will be a couple of weeks before I post mine.

Had a good look through the website, very pleased to see the field is split by BJCP category - excellent.
Couldn't see definitively one way or the other... are you accepting international entries?

Yes. The competition is open to everyone as long as the beers are made at home.bellebouche wrote:

280 entries with 127 people registered on the site (many whom have yet to enter beer). (the entry numbers are misleading as a guide, as they don't get recycled when people delete beers).orlando wrote:So how many have entered to date?
Last year was 243 entries with 116 people.
Notable this year is a shift in the spread accross categories from last year and a significant number of entrants with sizeable entries.
There are also a few entries from overseas.
Re: 2012 UK National Homebrew Competition
Hey Ali/guys,
Posted my entries today, and really fancy making the trip down for the day.
What's actually happening as far as entrants are concerned? Do we arrive at 4pm for the award ceremony? Or do we come earlier, and turn the place into a beer-hazed sweat pit of beer enthusiasts? Is there a bar, or have they a license for us to drink our own brew?
Apologies for the questions, this is my first time...

I will send an email to all entrants once the window has shut with more details about the day, but:RedFrank wrote:Hey Ali/guys,

Judging will begin at 9.30am. Lunch for Judges, Stewards and staff around noon. Awards and social from 4pmish.
The space will be divided into two during judging (soundproof divider). One space will be where judging takes place (entry only to judges, stewards and competition staff), and the other will be a hang-out zone with a homebrew stocked 'bar' (kegs or bottles) and stalls run by sponsors which will be open from around 10. Beer will not be paid for, but may ONLY be consumed in 'festival' glasses (kindly sponsored by the Malt Miller). All competition entrants, judges, stewards and staff will be provided with glasses on the day. Additional glasses (for guests etc) may be purchased on the day. There will be food available on the day.
