I should be OK to make it, split chimp always a good choice

I don't mind going there, will probably be there about seven. Just to avoid confusion then make it Box Social (we can always wander round the corner to the new Split Chimp later if people want). I will put it up on the NE Facebook group.

I'll have to wait till next Sunderland one then for my first jbk social. Bit difficult for me getting back home to the far end of Sunderland late at night from Newcastle. Hope yous all have a great night.

The new Split Chimp closes at 8:pm on Mondays, The Box social is open till 12:00 midnight!

I would love to come along but hospital visiting may prohibit so will not say definitely but will join if I can.

I'll likely aim to return on the 22:48 Metro from Central Station. That would still have 2 later trains in reserve, getting me back into Park Lane at about 23:20 and a half hour walk home. There are still a few buses running then but I prefer the walk home.

Ah that's good to know, although there are still a few other decent pubs nearby if we decide to move.
Hopefully you can make it George as it would be good to see you, but if not I am sure there will be other times :)

Even though in some ways this would be a good night for a drink for me (it's my birthday) I'll have to pass as I have family things arranged.

Have fun though, and raise a glass to me as I get yet another year older. :)

Have a very happy birthday, Jim! Hopefully whenever I get up to see Eric someday we can say hello to you too :D
Sommeliers recommend that you swirl a glass of wine and inhale its bouquet before throwing it in the face of your enemy.

That's a must do.
After Tuesday's brewery visit I was looking at Jennings and found they do bespoke evening tours for 18 at £10 a head to then supply as much beer as you can drink for an extra £15 plus a pie and pea supper for £3. With Cockermouth being on the C2C cycle route it seems possible to get a bunk for the night in that area for another tenner.
Just thinking ahead.

Have a happy birthday Jim. At this rate you'll be catching me up before long.
