How To Post Images on the Forum

You have 2 options for posting images on this forum: -

1. Host your pictures elsewhere and link to them.

2. Upload the pictures to the forum.

1. Linking to a picture hosted elsewhere

First, you need to upload your image to a suitable hosting site.

Popular Sites for Hosting Images: -

PostImage.org - Free, no account needed and allows you to resize your images as you upload

Photobucket - Free, but account required to use the service; if you have one already you're good to go!

Then you can begin a new post, and type the location (URL) of your image (you should be able to get this from the image hosting site) in the place you want it to appear in your post: -



....highlight the text that makes up your image URL: -



...and click the Img button above the Post Topic text box as shown. Image tags will automatically appear on either side of your URL: -



Finish typing your post then press submit: -



When your post appears, you should see your image in it as shown below: -

2. Upload your pictures to JBK

When making a new post, you will see the attachment options below the posting text box.

First, choose a file to attach from your computer (if the file is large, eg several MB, I recommend that you use image editing software to reduce its size before uploading it): -



Then add the file to your post:



Next you have the option to place the image inline with your text - if you don't do this, all the attachments will appear at the end of your post.



And finally post your message and its attached image.

This is an example of an uploaded image posted inline. Note that a smaller thumbnail appears in the post, which you can click on to see the full-sized picture.

Text can appear both before and after the image.

And this is the same image attached but not placed inline. Again each image appears as a clickable thumbnail.
