Did this from Marcs book earlier.

Colours Best Bitter

OG 1058 EST OG 1057 Book 1040

Mash 65c 90 mins
Boil 90 mins

4130g Pale Malt
230g Crystal 60L
115g Flaked Barley
70g Torrified Wheat

25g Target [10.7] pellets 90 mins
20g Styrian Goldings [3.3] pellets 15 mins

1 x Whirfloc

S04

Nothing untoward happened today, the kids were on the Wii while I was brewing which was nice. It's all nice and safe in the fermenter and I'm off down the pub to watch the match with the boys now wifey is back from work.

Fek knows, by my calcs I get 1057, Beersmith gives 1052 and I achieved 1058. I don't know how the book can achieve 1040 unless he had v poor efficiency or it's a print error.

Thanks V but I suspect it'll be stronger than I wanted it to be so it might need renaming as one of mine

'tis always a bonus when you get more than you thought.

Nice one subsub, no hassle with the pellets then?

You're not wrong Garth, but I really enjoyed a pint or two of it a few years back so it would be nice to recreate that. Never any hassle with nylon hop bags though m8 :D
