Well......all the Crossbreed is gone!

We (my brother in law and I) drank the whole corny in 2 days and absolutely loved it.

This was a really, really nice summery brew. It had the crisp bite of a lager (served at 10C), but also the fruity back end of an ale. I also like the touch of the Nottingham yeast - it kind of got out of the way and left a cris[ clean beer.

I gave a pint of this to my BiL when he arrived on Wednesday night after a drive from Manchester. Told him it was from a local micro and the response was "that's one of the nicest beers I have ever tasted". When I told him it was homebrew, his jaw almost hit the floor.

I'm going to brew this one again - maybe this weekend. I might try it with US05 yeast and see how different it comes out. I might also try replacing the Northdown hops with Amarillo and see what happens. The MO/lager malt cross is definitely good for light coloured summer ales though.....

Good looking brew. My grain bed never looks that gloopy. Looks like something served up in oliver twist.

Max,

That's the first brew i did using Lager Malt in the grain bill - and the first one that looked gloopy like that too. Don't know if the lager malt made it like that or what....

Although there's only one way to find out - ad that's to brew it again!
