The HLT is heating up and I am getting ready to brew.

I thought I might do something along the lines of TTL as I have some Golden Promise left.

Whorst, I will be using Nottingham dried yeast as that is all I have in!

That should work out nicely. Better choice than Safale-04.

Half way through the batch sparge so the first lot is back in the boiler and the boil has begun.

Its just about wrapped up, I forgot to get a reel of 10mm copper tube from B&Q before I started so its a bit slow chilling down with my mini mash IC.
It just needs to cool a little longer and then I can check the SG and dump it into the FV and pitch the yeast and then it will be pub o'clock :)

Hi Garth.

The copper is quite tall as I planned on having 10 gall capability, but I am currently limited by my coolbox mash tun due to the Nord-Opt thermo boxes not being available at the time, but I haven't looked for a 38 ltr one recently.

I also planned on bending a lip on the top of the copper and them lagging it with wood strips but I haven't quite got round to that yet.

I have orders for another brew as my G/F quite likes the "Guinnish" stout I did a couple of months ago. But I have just got a contact at one of my local micro brewerys so I may have a better source of malt.

Great boiler! I've never quite seen the attraction of stainless steel myself, but copper ... now that knocks on my box.

Personally I'd shine it up with a rag and polish rather than lag it. :D

Today has been kegging and bottling before I go to work this afternoon.

From an indicated 27ltr in the FV I got a well filled cornie and 15 bottles.

Now for the hard part, waiting for it to mature!

Will pop a few more pics from the brewday when I get time and upload them.
