MIDDAY BREW

Post by tatlock » Tue Oct 07, 2008 2:29 pm

For reasons known only to myself i decided at 11.00am to brew some beer. (even though i had to pick the kids up from school at 3!).
Got the mash water on at about 11.15 and threw some ingredients together for a 2 gallon brew.
2 kg optic
50g brown
20g black
50g goldings.

mashed for 1 hr at 68,sparged quickly(probably too quickly!) and had the boil going at 2.00pm.
looks like a 60 minute boil then!!
threw the hops in at 2.15.

fingers crossed it come out ok!

i am such a loser!

coundn't resist having a half pint sampler only 4 hrs after racking!!

tastes ok though (nowhere near as hoppy as i thought).

maybe because i only boiled the hops for 45 mins.

a bit yeasty but that i suppose is only to be expected.

if only i had some will power!
