Early start with this one 8am. Got grief off SWO's as i got up early to homebrew but i would never get up early for her

Just a weak ale this time & using up some malts that i have left. Want to see how they go in an ale.

90min boil
Start 32L
Aim 24L - 25L

Grain bill
3.5kg Marris otter
216g Munich malt
110g Caramunich
150g Flaked maize
200g Terrified wheat

Hops
Full boil

20g Cascade
10g Goldings
250g Demerara sugar

Last 20 min
20g Goldings
20g Fuggles

Flame off 80c
15g Cascade
15g Goldings
15g Fuggles

Using a Whirlfloc tablet. Never tried one of these so want to see the difference.

Any idea what strength im going to get? Between 3 - 4% hoping.

Looks like quite a mix! Hope it turns out nice.

How did you manage to frighten the wheat, then?

Rob

POTTER BREWERY (mothballed 2020)

Fermenting: nowt (sadly). Drinking: still a few bottles of my imperial stout knocking about . . . it's rather good now

All done, even cleaned up.

24L @ 1045. Bummer, prob end up with a 4.5% beer. I wanted it no higher than 4%.
I did add an extra 2L of water to the boil as i thought it was getting a bit low.
VERY impressed with the wirlfloc tablet. For an extra 50p i definetly will be buying them again.

Come on you brainiacs, what was my efficiency?

Told it that if it made a mess SWO's would give it a kicking.

Update

This brew is having a bad time. I checked it 3 days ago & it had dropped to 1035. Thats 10 points in 9 days. It still had that wort taste to it. So i tipped another of my yeast bottles in. Checked today & its only dropped 5 more points. So now ive dumped in some So-4 thats been used in a previous brew. Ive just checked it & theres bubbles forming on top. So hopefully it should finish.
How long is too long for it to be fermenting before it goes to ruin?
Whats the problem with my Thames Valley 1275?

I made enough bottles up as required. You would think there'd be enough per bottle.
