End of an Era Ale

Post by awalker » Wed Feb 04, 2009 2:53 pm

Thought I had done my last beer on my Hop and Grape Electric boiler.
But as I am still awaiting the last bits from BeerBelly, I cannot start doing 10 gallon batches on my new gas setup.

End of an Era for three reason

1) We are getting a new kitchen, so no more home brewing in the kitchen.
2) Going to 10g gas, so will be selling of the electric boiler and mashtun when I have done a few.
3) I am off work at the moment as I got paid off for my notice from my last company as they were not very happy when I handed my notice in
That does mean I got a nice paid four week holiday though =D>

Grain
Amount Item Type % or IBU
4.50 kg Pale Malt, Maris Otter (5.9 EBC) Grain 93.75 %
0.20 kg Amber Malt (43.3 EBC) Grain 4.17 %
0.10 kg Caramel/Crystal Malt -120L (236.4 EBC) Grain 2.08 %

Hops - That needed to be used up
Amount Item Type % or IBU
20.00 gm Target [12.00 %] (60 min) Hops 22.5 IBU
20.00 gm Challenger [6.00 %] (60 min) Hops 11.3 IBU
30.00 gm Challenger [6.00 %] (60 min) (Aroma Hop-Steep) Hops -

Was going to use Safale S04 yeast
I hope it should be tasty, any comments
Need to fill up some of those empty kegs
Fermenter(s): Lambic, Wheat beer, Amrillo/Cascade Beer
Cornys: Hobgoblin clone, Four Shades Stout, Wheat Beer, Amarillo/Cascade Ale, Apple Wine, Cider, Damson Wine, Ginger Beer
