Cheers for the grain, hops and "testers" Garth.

I've supped the Deuchars stylee clone and I think you were right, the yeast got too hot - very fruity and the hops were knocked on the head, but still very drinkable.

The Galaxy IPA on the other hand is excellent. I've opened one of the two you've given me and the yeast has been disturbed so I can't comment on how clear it would have been but the taste is very grapefruit/lemon with a pineapple aroma - a very Hawaiian feel which I never thought I would drink as an ale.

Congrats =D>

Well, I supped your beer as well last night, I couldn't wait, bloody lovely, extremely flavoursome and a good deal of bitterness, you could really taste the Fuggles and Target, nice one Steve.

Couldn't wait eh :lol:

I'm pleased you liked it but I think it will get better with another couple of weeks under it's belt - I'll try and keep another for your delectation :boff:

I tried some of mine from the keg after drinking your Galaxy - quite a difference. Where yours was very hoppy, mine was equally bitter. I'm hoping the hops begin to come back through, but I'm also hoping I can hold off drinking it too :roll:

If you want it bitter, but more hoppy bitter (if that makes sense) move more of the bittering hops to 15mins, you'll obviously use quite a bit more hops but you get loads more of the flavour. Thats how the hop schedule is with the Galaxy.

Just finished bottling this lot, initial tastings are good, certainly no off-tastes, the hop combination seems to work, so time will tell.

It should have been dry hopped with about 20g of each of the hops but I didn't have any hopbags or teaballs, so it'll have to do. It does seem to be lacking in the aroma department.... :(

Anyway, I've ordered three large teaballs so I can start dry hopping properly for next time.

This now leaves me three empty cornies for the Perle/Nelson brew that me and Al (ajh800) did a week last Saturday.
