big ass stout 7-02-09

Doing a stout in the style of pops stout ie chuck in everything inclding the kitchen sink

Heres the grist
MO 5 Kg
Wheat 0.4 Kg
Carapils 0.25 Kg
Crystal 0.5 Kg
Special B 0.23 Kg
Carafa I 0.3 Kg
Black Malt 0.25 Kg
Roast Barley 0.4 Kg

Mashing at 65 C for 60 mins
Boil for 60 mins with 60 min hop addition of brambling cross to get a OG:IBU ratio of 2:1.
Might throw in 10-15g with 10 mins to go also.

Two packets of windsor have brought this down from 1060 to 1024 in less than 48 hrs, the head is nearly dissapated but hopefully it'll bring the OG on down into the 1016 range.

Supping this out of the fermenter, bloody lovely stuff, much better than any stout you can buy (that i've tried anyway)
