Well... I've just got home after a days brewing at the Sweet William Brewery in Leyton, East London. I'm cream crackered having carried home a polypin of beer as my days wages :D ...

I thought you lot might like to see a few pics I got of the day. It's a bit more impressive than the sytem of buckets I use...

Changed the title from Toms big kit brewday to Toms big shiny brewday - realised the title might make it look like it was a beer kit brewday thread...

Well my wages werent racked bright so I'm leaving the poly till tomorrow at least.
An excellent days work Tom

Very nice tomU, well done :D

Any chance you can post their recipe and what yeast they use?

I cant remember the recipe, and I'm not sure whether they'd be happy for me to post it. It had 3kg of muscovado sugar in it though (in 850litres).

This is another brewery which uses blended dried yeast

Your late hops steeping pic is the same as your heat exchanger pic btw.

But good post!

Tom,

How did you get the opportunity to brew there? Are you mates with the owner or are they open to punters brewing their own recipes on their plant?

Yeah, they're friends of friends - they let me come and help to give me some experience - I'm currently studying a brewing degree. This wasn't my recipe - and no, I doubt they would be open to punters I'm afraid - they only have 2 fermenters and they struggle to brew everything they want to as it is.
Your late hops steeping pic is the same as your heat exchanger pic btw
Yeah, just noticed that - I'll change that when I get a sec - I know theres a lot of brewporn fans out there, and I'm sure some have a heat exchanger fetish...
