Permission to copy and replace Sauvins with Cascades sir. An all Challenger brew is tempting too.

Permission granted private Munky  . I'm doing this regimen again on Friday with Brewers Gold. Both your's and mine should be OK to draw a PET sample to bring to LAB next month if you're brewing in the next few days. What do you reckon?

Aye sounds good!

I'm off to 'Ull this weekend, but will try and get a brew in one night next week.

Best order some caramalt from BB. [edit] Ordered.

I'll prolly chuck either nottingham or S04 at it, or if I brew 40+L 1 of each.

cheers,

John

Right, I should be brewing this either tonight or tomorrow eve.

Did you brew yours on Friday Si?

Now, do I go Bobek (Styrian), Challenger or Cascade?

Sorry BM missed your post. Yeah I did.

The Savvy Pale is really hopfronted, but surprisingly for me it's not that overdone! Another 2 weeks will hopefully knock off the fresh hop edge and just leave the beautiful winey fresh flavour. If it doesn't I'll brew this again but adjust it back with less late hops, but like I suggest it's not due to be ready yet for 2 weeks though so I'll wait and see. The caramalt adds body against the bittering hops (think I love caramalt) and reckon it'll be a good brew.

The Brewer's Gold beer is kegged now and sneaked a taster this evening having left the IG 2 days to clear it (pretty much had too  ) Tastes German lagery hopped which isn't surprising. Very drinkable even now.

Think I'm close to having sussed a pale hoppy base for 1.040-ish beers 8)
