Pictures of my Bishops Hat.....

Post by jubby » Thu Apr 23, 2009 5:59 pm

Well it's been a year since I last posted a brewday and as I like to look at others brewdays, I thought it was about time I did it again.

It's a rip off of Styrian Stunner with a few changes to suit what i had in stock.

Assisted by Tequilla6, here it is:

Image Ingredients, notes etc.

Image Preheating. Image Grain ready to go.

Image Hops and mash/sparge water treatments Image Sparging (fly)

The corny line up. sod all to do with the brewday but they look nice! Image

Image Boiling up Image Cooling.

Leftovers Image Image 1.046 (bit high)

Image In the fermenting fridge at 25C and set to 19C. Lots of hop matter in there.
I usually squirt the first 1/2 litre from the boiler into a jug to clear the hop strainer manifold of hop and trub before running into the fermenter, but my assistant insisted on sampling beers fairly early on in the brewing process.........nuff said.

This was brewed on the 7th and went into the keg/bottles on the 20th at an FG of 1.009. Looks like pond water but smells and tastes fantastic. Looking forward to this one.

Thanks for your company steve (Tequilla6) and for the beer!

Yes, but I notice it was blank

My brewing sheet has a comments section which includes references to any cock-ups. Of my five AG brews so far, two have had at least one.

#1 has an entry that reads "V. slow run-off into FV from boiler - hop filter blocked? No, it had come away from the tap".
#3 reads "Don't plug in the HLT until the water is added !!!"

Nice one Jubby.... Good Photo's, but I suggest that the Cock Ups section should really have have some comments in it like "Sampled other beers too early on in the brewing process"
