stouts, porters, darker ales and barley wines are more associated with winter as they are seen as a heavier warming type of drink.....sipping them away in front of some roaring log fire, rather than chucking a 3.8% light guzzler down your neck while poking the barbie on a blazing hot day.....

but as you say, I also drink them anytime anyway

after just 24 fermenting, mine is smelling absolutely amazing.

You are going to have to let us all know how this turns out and give a porn pic of a pint once it's conditioned.

Reading the ingredients list is making me thirsty already....lol may I go down the pub for lunch tomorrow and quaff a Black Dog in the noon day sun to cheer myself up :beer:

Maris Otter 3230gms
Flaked Barley 500 gms
Amber Malt 250 gms
Chocolate Malt 250 gms
Roasted Barley 200 gms
Carafa Special 200 gms

Cascade 40 gms

Its kegged now, and im desperately trying to keep my hands off it for another week or so, which is proving difficult!
