Reason was to use up my last of my Northdowns,,, will post a few pics later, coming to the last 15mins for goldings and protafloc tablet,,,

Approx 5.7Kg of grain

Mash with approx 2.5 Ltr per Kg

My 2 bucket Mash tun not the best in the world but if does the trick,,, , mignt treat myself to a nw one

1st Batch added, full to the brim

Hot steamy wort,, very dark, nice

Last of my lovely Northdowns boiling away

No fancy hop stainers here!, 23 ltrs of boiling porter,, no cooler yet either
Only got 23 ltrs @1050 in the end recipe says 25Ltr @ 1055, any thoughts?

One possibility is that all those dark grains may have dragged the pH down below 5.2 and reduced your mash efficiency.
