I just done this on Monday and it smells great.

I was advised to mash at 67 however..

Should be racking it for bottling on Sunday

Good luck

Cheers I hope so and the sparging was a bit fiddly, I used the wrong FV I feel for my mashtun so I have to switch it over.

Got there in the end, pre boil OG of 1042 and got around 30 Litres boiling away just now. I will have photos later on.

I will see if I can manage.

I ended up with 23.5 Litres at 1052, so I diluted back to 25 Litres at 1049 with boiling water.

Thats about 70% efficency which is not bad for a 1st go, also I lost 1.5 Litres because my hop strainer came apart. If I get a better one hopefully that will help.

Its now cooling in the bath, in an enclosed sanitised FV, but since it was going in near boiling it should be ok for tomorrow?

Good stuff.

Being a stout I will have no issues with clarity my IPA may though, when I make it next week.

In other good news approximatly 125grams of cascade = 140grams that means i have 200 grams of lovley Hops to use in my IPA.
