So what with the constant rain and predicted gail force winds I thought it may be cool enough to brew, so whilst listening to the cricket I made an APA;
3.5kg m/o
500g Munich
500g wheat
250g crystal
60mins at 60C
Sparge at 78c
3oz Willamette 90 mins
1 0z Willamette 15 mins
1 tsp Irish moss 15 mins
20g liberty 80c steep
WLP 023 – Burton ale yeast
Smells nice…………
So a few choices to make;
1. Should I for the first time ever add finings/ a Camden tablet, you know, because people do……
2. A friend gave me a budget barrel, which looks in reasonable nick. Should I use this with my good brew or bottle it and test the barrel on some cider for the wife?
3. Should I dry hop with some Liberty? Never dry hopped or used liberty before, thinking about 10g?
I do not enjoy bottling.

Re: Willamette/Liberty
Could be zesty and spicy, fuggles with a zing
As I said in my Rye stout recipe, the Liberty smelt really zesty and fresh.

Re: Willamette/Liberty
Liberty is a fantastic hop but make sure your beer has enough body to balance it out. I made a light bodied ale with tons of Liberty and it's slightly reminiscent of drinking lemon juice mixed with water!
