Batemans Salem Porter

Post by arturobandini » Sun Nov 29, 2009 1:53 pm

Probably the most relaxed, smoothest and uncomplicated brewday I've had yet. Into the first ten minutes of the boil and all cleaned up already.

Recipe is from the GW book , which has been an absolute winner so far I might add, so no details only that I missed out 100g Crystal as I was short. I didn't sub it with anything but I'm sure the result won't be altered too much.

Even had time to take a few photographs which I'll try and add later. I was supposed to be brewing a St Peter's Clone but I had a last minute flick through Wheeler's book and this Porter caught my eye. Anyone tried it on draught? It's a really nice liquoricey pint of Porter and a perfect winter warmer at 5%+ though I might be a little late to condition this in time for the Christmas period.
Planning - Not for a long while

Fermenting - I'm Done

Bottle Maturing - Hobgoblin, Fullers ESB, American Stout, TOP, Fullers London Porter, Bandini Black IPA

Drinking - Still...Whiskey
