new beer
new beer
just done one for the liverpool beer festival using an experimental hop called beata (v. high in beta acids) as well as fuggles and galena, ive got high hopes for this. the smell when i opened thebag was amazing!
going to be a bit of a hop monster as there was over 6 kilos in total in a 9 barrel brew length!

Re: new beer
Sounds mad! (in a good way ) youll have to let us know how i turns out

Re: new beer
I got some of that cheap beata a month ago amongst my order for my next six brews. Haven't opened it yet. Maybe I'll give it more prominence if your results are good.
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget
Re: new beer
its at 1018 now smells great! going to be turning on the chillers at 1012 ish (projected to brew out at 1009)
think i mashed it a little cool at 64.5 - if i do it again at a lower gravity ill adjust my temps acordingly to try and increase mouthfeel

Re: new beer
Have some Beata but am afraid to use them!
Did you use them to bitter or for flavour as well? Read somewhere that they are suitable for lager style beers.
Cheers.
