Exclusive brewday video

Post by Whorst » Tue Jan 26, 2010 11:03 pm

This is from my last brewday. I was a mess when I brewed this beer. Extremely hungover from the prior night.

Yes. You are mad.

Nice vid though - I can feel the hangover creeping through. What's the music?

Killing Joke, "Willful Days" and "Psyche." The music depicts the feelings I had yesterday.

Flow rate on the oxygen is insane, is it supposed to be that much ? I normally just have it as a gentle bubbling.

You need about 10ppm. Over-oxygenation is generally not a concern as the yeast will use all available oxygen within 3 to 9 hours of pitching and oxygen will come out of solution during that time as well. Under-oxygenation is a much bigger concern.

What do you use for addition of oxygen chaps? Aquarium pump? Cylinder of pure oxygen?

Looks like a decent psi rating from the vid Whorst!

I just give it a few minutes thrashing with a paint mixer on a a drill, until it looks like a nice foamy milkshake!

I would use pure oxygen if I could find somewhere to get it from, but my local gas supplier can't give it to me without a £2.00 per week rental from BOC on the bottle.

Is that one of the 1L disposable ones Mysti? And if so, how many batches do you get out of one?
