The plan was to make a Lager style ale with Lager Malt, Flaked Maize, Hallertau and US-05. However, what ended up in the FV is this;
4000g Lager Malt
220g Flaked Maize
220g Wheat Malt
220g Brown Malt
18g Black Malt
37g Northdowns - 60 mins
18g Northdowns - 30 mins
20g Challenger - 30 mins
35g Hallertau - steep
US-05
45 IBU and hit 1052. Absolutely no structure to my recipe, bit of a 'use it up' one. Of course I will describe it as combining 'both British and European influences'.
Just noticed a fair bit of break material carried through to the test tube - would this give me a higher gravity reader due to the denser liquid?

Re: Brewday 29th April
Hope you enjoyed your brewday as much has I did mine today Boowldawg.
At least you got a reading.... I've no idea where I've put my hydrometer "for safe keeping". Must've have had a few when I tidied up last time I used it.
Roger.

I love US-05, opens up the door for loads of new interesting beers. Keep us updated, would like to know how this one turns out

I'm not even going to bother..... too stressful worrying about it. I'll just trust the recipebooldawg wrote:you'll have to guestimate!
