I've got back into homebrewing after 28 years off!! I used to do kits when I was a student. Like everyone else I'm fed up of being ripped off at the pub.
I've done a couple of kits to start but I was interested in doing a TC with a few tweaks.
Ingredients:
18 litres of Apple Juice from Aldi - 56p per litre.
A few apples from my mates garden - free.
A jar of Aldi honey - £2.49
Marmalade - 90p
Muntons Gold Yeast
500g Spray malt. - £2.50ish
3 cups of black tea.
Total: £15ish - 40p a pint.
First I washed the apples. Then I chopped them up and put them in two pans. I didn't use the cores and I left the skin on. Then let them boil for a while to kill any nasties.

I put the honey and marmalade in some hot water to make it easier to pour - probably didn't need to put the marmalade in - so sue me!!!
I added the honey to the apples so it would dissolve.

I missed getting a pic of the apples when they had been boiled for a while. They were still in pieces but about ready to turn to mush.
Chucked them in my sanitised FV. Then added the marmalade and the tea for tannin.
Next the apple juice went in - 17l of Aldi plus 1 litre from Asda - a freebie from my uncle.

Checked the OG at 1055 - then added the spray malt.
I had to wait until it cooled a bit to pitch the yeast.
OG 1060. Get in.
Nice head on it next day.

My mate said that the malt may have been a mistake. What the hell!!!
