good man. you'll never look back. The only problem i've found is that now when i go to the pub, i sit there thinking 'i could make this' :)

Well, that's half the reason I'm brewing - there's no good beer where I am so when I'm back in the pub in blighty I say to myself "I have to find a way to make this"!

Cheers

A quick update -

I'm supping probably the eighth or ninth pint as I type, and I'm well pleased. A nice simple recipe resulting in a nice simple very drinkable beer.

I bottled 1.5l and kegged the rest - In the past I've always ended up with off flavours in my bottles but not in the kegged beer so I was super careful this time sterilising the bottles, and a quality tap on the fermeter helped reduce oxidation on filling.

The kegged beer was not primed, I force carbonated it. This hasn't worked brilliantly due to a leak somewhere in my corny (I think in the s04 adapter) but I don't mind low carbonated beer as long as it tastes good and this one sure does - no 'homebrew twang' like I've had from the kit beers I've made. It's so good I'm confident enough I've invited my work colleagues round for beers next week to toast the birth of my first daughter Elia.

Great beer ready before her arrival. Job done. Thanks all for the advice and encouragement - stay tuned for the next installment!
