AG #6 Black Sheep Ale

Post by JontyR » Tue Feb 22, 2011 11:15 am

Been out and bought a 2nd fermenter yesterday so I can get another brew on whilst my golden pippin ferments away. Again, nothing too adventurous as I'm still enjoying how these recipes mark up against the real mc'coy.

Anyway, doughed in at 10.00 at 66 degrees

Bugger - just went out to add 10 minutes hops and both elements on the boiler are off!

I couldn't work out the problem then and there so wort decanted into FV, 10 minute hops into a muslin bag steeping in the wort. I suppose it'll be black sheepish now. I'll get the boiler dismantled and take a look at what could be the problem.

Oh well, you can't win them all eh?

It should still turn out drinkable, dont worry too much, had the boiler cut out on me on more than one occasion before
the full boil was done and it was still ok, not exactly what you were aiming for but nowhere near a disaster.
