The mash is on, and for the first time in my (fairly limited) brewing experience, I feel able to relax, have a cuppa and enjoy the sunshine for half an hour without panicking about what needs to be ready next, when, where I've put everything etc etc etc. I'm hoping that's because I'm getting to grips with my equipment and the process, and not because I'm blindly oblivious to something drastically wrong.
Something's bound to go pear shaped now I've said that lol!

Re: Bank Hol Brewday - AG#7
We're good on both of those, double-checked and checked again! Bit of a problem when I lit the gas for the boiler though - the connector where the flexible hose is attached to the burner inlet has worked the solder loose. Fortunately with a bit of brute force I managed to get the hose onto the wider part of the inlet further up, so a bit of time lost but nothing else. Otherwise I'd have been resorting to boiling in the HLT (which has a hop filter, just in case
although the volume is a bit small for my brewlength).
Having got this far I'm now expecting to run out of gas...
