Having a lovely sunny day brewing in the garden today. I brew a lot outside these days. Under a roof, but open sided.
So far this year all of my brews have been IPA's. Fancied something a bit darker. So decided to brew something along the lines of a Hobgoblin. I've made Orfys Hobgoblin a few times and its good. So this is fairly close to that. With a few tweaks as I only had 5g of Chocolate Malt. But had loads of Goldings that wanted to come to the party. Added some Roasted Barley to make up for the lack of Chocolate malt.
All boiling away nicely.
4Kg MO Pale Malt.
180g Crystal Malt.
150g Flaked Barley.
150g Torrified Wheat.
5g Chocolate Malt.
60g Roasted Barley
60 min boil.
40g Goldings FWH
30g Challenger FWH
Protofloc
20g Goldings 0 Mins
15g Challenger 0 Mins
S04 Yeast
Scorchio

Re: Scorchio
I'll just go and add the Protofloc and put the cooler in. Then I'll have a go at posting a photo.
Sorry Steve. i was going to post a photo, but appears you cant just cut n paste anymore, it has to be hosted elsewhere. Not sure I can be arsed, I wanna go sit in the garden an have a beer.
