No, you can't taste starsan, won't do you any harm as long as it is just a little residue you'll never know.Cam wrote:
Prepping my bottles now. Hoping some starsan bubbles aren't a problem in the bottles.

I thought so. Pretty sure thats why I decided to get it.orlando wrote:No, you can't taste starsan, won't do you any harm as long as it is just a little residue you'll never know.
I managed to bottle the beer last night. I ended up with 26x 500ml bottles. I did tow batches and tried difference priming sugars just to see if there was any difference. One was the Glucose Coopers drops and the other Dextrose brewers sugar. Time will tell
Re: Adventures into my first homebrew
I wondered since I primed the sugar into the bottles should I upend them to mix through the beer. Just looked at one of the bottles that I used the Priming Drops in and a liquid syrup was settled at he bottom, obviously due to the drop melting.

Yes, a good idea to mix properly but eventually the yeast will convert that, they love pure sucrose.Cam wrote:I wondered since I primed the sugar into the bottles should I upend them to mix through the beer. Thanks again. I'll upend the ones that used drops. The loose priming sugar bottles mixed when adding the beer.orlando wrote:Yes, a good idea to mix properly but eventually the yeast will convert that, they love pure sucrose.
Re: Adventures into my first homebrew
Well the time has come to open a bottle of my very first homebrew. The beer will have been bottled for 3 week Tuesday so going to open one on Friday and see how its getting on. Wish me luck.
Re: Adventures into my first homebrew
So I have tried a few bottles over the weekend and I CANNOT BELIEVE how good this turned out. SO chuffed it worked and more to the point tastes AMAZING! Full of confidence for the next brew now.
