Seemed to go to plan Mr Chugg.
The og was 1056 and instructions said 1060.
But I'm ok with that as its my 2nd brew.
Really need to insulate my mash better.

I'm sure you'll love it even if it was a few points off target SG, did you lose similar to first brew on mash temp? its not a great loss, and what about sparge, same 66 again? maybe try a little higher on a future brew, and I always squeeze the feck out of the bag.

Hi chugg

About same mash temp loss yes.
Sparred with 75 degrees as stated in instruction.

Well day 5.
After vigorous fermentation after just 12 hours things have gon a little quieter.
Just taken a gravity reading and coming out at 1014.
(Probably more like 1013 but erring on the side of caution).
Og was 1040
Seems quite quick!
Taste bloody nice too :D

The hbc double IPA is still at 1028 after 4 days.
Og for this was 1056.

Doombar is as clear as I'd expect. The IPA not so clear but being a lighter colour it will show up more I guess.
I normally leave my brews in the brew fridge for 3 weeks before legging and force carbing.

Just taken gravity readings of both brews

Doom bar is 1012
IPA is also 1012

Had a sneak peak in at the IPA and it has large bubbles on the surface. Not sure it looks quite right but didn't want to peel the lid right off to take a pic.
Adding the dry hop the weekend and keg the following weekend.

Had a taste of the Doombar when taking the gravity reading. Bloody amazing.
I had always found my kit ales a little bit samey.
But this tasted very distinctive. In a good way.
