I spend most of my time lurking on here rather than posting due to a lack of time but I made an effort with the past two brews to document them and post them up here (everybody loves a brewday with pictures!). The first is a milk stout, the recipe and photos are below:
Target gravity of 1.044
61.7% Pale Malt
14% Chocolate Malt
10.5% Crystal Malt (dark)
8.0% Lactose
5.7% Flaked Barley
Mash for 60 minutes
Boil for 60 minutes
Hopped with Phoenix to 25 IBU at 60 minutes
Lactose was added 15 minutes before the end of the boil
Yeast wast Nottingham
The grist:

Recirculating the wort (always over temperature as it drops back at the beginning of the mash)

Some lovely hops (Phoenix)

Lactose

Spent grain

Running the wort into the fermenter

Starting gravity

Must have a brew while you brew - it's a pale ale hopped with admiral:

The beer fermented out, has since been kegged and is currently sat in the kegerator. I'm really looking forward to it, I hope it's as good as last years!
