OK SG is currently 1.011, I will be checking again tomorrow if similar I will be sticking it in the secondry for a couple of weeks.

Taste is green but good, goldings at the front and the BX giving a nice bittering to the brew.

Touch wood this should be a goody  And should take the edge off the end of august 8)

I try  Its a bit unnerving to the locals when a bottle of beer is opened and you don't get that surge of CO2 sound, but they like the taste(so far) :=P

This beer has been a real forum effort so far, Matts recipe, steve Flacks software, your and EB's batch sparge calcs and stuff. Oh and I assembled it

I just need to squeeze in another 2-3 brews over the next couple of weeks. I have done all my calcs and then revised with the losses due to technique. My brew book looks like a monkey with a crayon has been at it, oh hang he has it was me

Ok racked into the secondry. I must say this is looking to be my clearest beer yet. I think the IC has made a difference. I did make sure that a bit of yeast slurry got into the secondry.
OH and 1,010 chuffed with that attenuation. All I can say is I hit my figures and that is a good thing. :=P

Yes I have DaaB, and all I can say is Matt has done me proud :=P A really good summer ale.

My only concern is whether any of this will leave the secondry and make it into the bottles, its not that I am short of a beer its just that good, even though its green and young. I must resist as it will be better with a bit of carbonation in a bottle.

This recipe so far is a keeper and shows promise to become a stock ale and will be great come august(that is if me and the wife don't drink it  )

And as I racked it would pass the Feck test 8)

fingers and toes are crossed

Bottled today, and its tasting mighty fine, for you hop heads out there you may want to dry hop this one.
I have made the first outing for the reusable bottle caps, first impressions are that they are a lot less bother than crown caps.So no fighting the capper which is nice
I hope to be able to leave this for 2 weeks before tucking in  But at the moment the carbonation is just like cask conditioning which suites me fine so I have adopted Mr Edges dosing of priming sugar@ 1grm per 500ml so lets see how it turns out :=P

Hi P2,

Great to hear it worked out well. Still got this one in my sights for my first autumn brew in September. I'm tempted to DH but plan is to replicate what you did (albeit without the bodega  ).

Cheers,
Matt

I'll post my tasting in the next couple of weeks, the BX adds some interesting background flavours that sit well with the Goldings 8)
And the bodega temp range has been 18-19.5C, we had a few days at 45C and today has peaked at 25C, so I am chuffed at the stability of the brew room. Just a shame in the near future it will be a kitchen living room, but I have a canny plan round that

I've had a bit of an accident, a bottle popped its cap next to a glass so I feel compelled to report my findings:

Feck test pass :pink: :flip:

I know its not carbed up yet, though good enough if you like cask ale, which I ddo.
The flavour seems to be developing along really well, the BX are adding a fruityness, in the side of the mouth(plumy,or apple twang) that sits well with the front load of Goldings.

All I can say is Matt that its getting better and its clear, I feel like JP, beaming from ear to ear. And I owe it to you, and the tools and info gleaned off the forum. =D> =D> =D>
And since I took the photo my glass has been drained, time to see whats in the stores

btw can't we switch from father jack hackets head to a pair of hooters or something
No, it's not the same...or original either

Though a pair of hooters...no....too distracting...you'll ignore the haze and see what you wanna see....hmmmmm

Not a bad idea after all

Doesn't have the same 'ring' to it though does it

The feck test

The Hooter test

Me thinks a poll may be coming up
