7/10/07 Strong Belgian ale

Had a manic brewafternoon and evening making the following
19l
4.5kg Maris Otter
.5Kg Aromatic
25gm Styrian Goldings 60min
25gm Saaz 60min
25gm Saaz 15min
1kg Demerera Sugar
Brewferm Yeast
1.080'ish
Two rambling disorganised moments - Lost nearly half a litre of strong runnings from the Mash by leaving the boiler tap open DOH!
The hop strainer fell off when running the boiled wort off, god knows how, and blocked the tap so I left 4 litres in the boiler - Too scared of infection to fix it and it was getting a bit dark!
Still what's left is going great guns in the FV.

Sounds like you had a bit of a mare! Don't worry too much you've still got beer to drink. I won't tell you how many times I've lost the whole batch to an open tap and paying no attention to it. And they say us Irish are lucky

Just one of those brew days burner. What's this recipe based on?

I did contemplate straining it out but I was getting tired and everything was essentially done one handed thanks to my injury.

The recipe I made up myself on Beersmith.

We all have those types of brewdays every now and then.
Persistence is the key, well done B
