Hard to burn yourself out when your already a burnt out old hippy

I think i would like to do the same recipe again but this time use my Green Bullet hops. That way i should be able to guage the difference in taste between the two. Hopefully.

I'm gonna ring NZ hops and find out the AA of mine.

I'm told they are 13.2%

There is a good yeast head on the beer now and the airlock is bubbly away like a good 'un. :D

Congratulation M.T.F.! Seems you had a good day and soon you'll be drinking decent beer!!!

Regarding your sparging shower, you'll probably find that you got no liquid out of the center tube because you have drilled too many holes in the outer ring. When I made mine, it suprised me how few holes were required, and how small they needed to be.

Table X 15mm copper tube has an I.D. of 13.6mm, so an approximate area of 145 sq.mm. A 2.5mm diameter hole has an area of 4.91 sq.mm., so in theory if you drilled 30 holes the combined diameter of the outlet holes are more than the diameter of the feed tube.

If it worked, I'd just live with it, but if you were going to re-manufacture, get a printed circuit board drill bit of less than 1mm diameter and calculate how many holes you need.

Well done Martin, looks to have gone very well, very good pics. There's no turning back now! I'm about a month away from my first AG.

It never occured to me to calculate the size and quantity of holes. If i re-build i'll do that next time. But my sparge arm seems to work well enough at the moment.
Plus the good weather is back so i'm up to my neck in tourists again. Roll on winter

The airlock slowed considerably a couple of days ago. I took a reading yesterday-1006. Same today. Yippee!!! :D

It is a lovely pale golden blonde colour, smells terrific and tastes good already. 8)

I'll leave it in the FV for another day and i'll bottle it up tomorrow evening.
