Brewday 04/09/09 - Brown Ale
Re: Brewday 04/09/09 - Brown Ale
Mysterio can I ask if they are quick disconnects of some sort between the hoses and the taps on your set up? Just starting to cobble together equipment for AG and this is one area I cannot find out too much - cheers

Yeah they are these things from morebeer, only problem is they cost a fortune
(and that was when the exchange rate was favourable)
They are a bit of an indulgence, you can almost certainly do it cheaper

Wort near the end of the boil, slightly over target
Glacier hops were very mild smelling, grassy/haylike

Ummmm.....well it's "Corporate Strategy" this month....whatever that means. What it means to me right now is sitting in the lounge at Changi airport drinking Jack and Coke trying to anaesthetise myself for the 14 hour flight back home!mysterio wrote:Hey ADM, what job is it you have that allows you to travel to these exotic places and still have time to brew several batches of beer a monthI want it!

On the quickie discos, I can heartily recommend Intrico: http://www.intricoproducts.com/catalogu ... roove.htmlmysterio wrote:Yeah they are these things from morebeer, only problem is they cost a fortune(and that was when the exchange rate was favourable)

These are cheap as chips (well.....chips from the Savoy Grill anyway) and available in stainless steel, aluminium and polypropylene and from the UK. The only downer is that postage is £12 +VAT flat rate, so you need to buy a few to make it worth it.

Wort oxygenated and yeast pitched at 20 past 3... lets see what the lag time is like with the British ale yeast

Yeast head developing now
Shame the bucket i'm using for this kind of stinks of plastic/rubber, I let some yeast fester in there for months and it went black and autolysed
Bleached it out thoroughly but I hope the taint doesn't carry through to the beer

This is fermented out already, couldn't resist drawing out a little sample, tasted good... can't wait to see what its like kegged up. Didn't realise this stuff wasn't a top cropper. Seems to have dropped out already.
