I had a slant of TV3 but it got burired and has gone way out of date. there is nowhere here where i can get it so i'll have to contact them directly and see if they will post to norway.

Did you start with 150 ml and step up?
I wouldn't worry to much about the date, my advice is try it and see, i made up 300ml of wort, about 10 mls of that i poured into the slant, recapped and then agitated it until virtually all the yeast had came of the slant, poured that into the 300 mls, give it a few days to grow and then into the 5G batch, the yeast didn't seem to struggle and i certainly couldn't detect any off flavours (only nice ones).

mine went out of date around may though... its in the fridge but i do wonder iof it is worth trying. How is the attentuation compared to say notty? I guess worse case would be to make a small starter, then step it up and see if it lives.

If its been in the fridge it'll almost certainly be fine, from my limited experience with it (two brews) the attenuation wouldn't be as high as say nottingham or US-05 but not as low as SO4 or windsor, i guess its middle of the road.
