If anyone can point me in the direction of a recipe for a hard, tangy IPA with a similar hop hit to Jaipur or Punk IPA, I might give it a go for my next brew.

PAH!
A Punk clone has to be up there on my list of to-do-nexts. Certainly would like a go this side of xmas.

Excellent thread by the way and good to hear your honest feedback and assessment of your brew

Looks the part all bottled up :)
Back to the drawing board eh, more brewing = Fun, so the next batch should be a step closer ;)

I just wonder whether the lack of aroma is due to the low carbonation here? There is a fair amount of late hopping there, but perhaps moving some to dry hop would help it a little?

Also, of note, you say you "squashed the wort out of the hops" - unless it's a *very* gentle press, I'd always been under the impression that this is a no-no as it can lead to the extraction of off-flavours, but I've never seen a definitive answer on it?

Has anyone had any experience with these hops? Where is the orange flavour coming from? At a guess, I'd say the Centennial hops.
My opinion is that it is from the Ahtanum... i get very orangey notes from it when I have used them.

+1 on this point

I've made some great hoppy beers with centennial. Only made 1 beer with Ahtanum and it was pretty disappointing....
