There has been so much confusion over the Styrian Goldings that I finally got this answer from my supplier
"Styrian Goldings are made up from three different hop varieties, Bobek, Celeia and Savinski. When ordering Styrian Goldings it would be one of, or a mixture of two or all three. When Slovenia joined the EU it was no longer allowed to call them Styrian Goldings which is now why we have the choice"
Geoff, I have just put a pack of Celeia in the post for you, see what you think.

Oh no this is terrible news. I was thinking Bobeks and styrians were the same. Styrian goldings are absolutely delicious, lemon zing, refreshing, but delicate. Pants

Rob, cheers I will look forward to trying them out. Have you used Celeia ?
Also what slopes are you hitting ?
Bobba, yes they are definitely a different beast, Bobek are more sharp tasting.

Not yet, I am trying to use everything I have but it is starting to get a little difficult.
We are having a week in Le Plagne, French Alps. Cant wait, we have not skied with the kids before so I am sure it will be entertaining!

Looks like I'll have to try some Celeia. Glad I found this thread, was planning on using bobeks in a brew this weekend. Are they any good for dry hopping? I'm wondering if they'd blend well with northdown or bramling cross to mellow them out a bitmysterio wrote:Rob, cheers I will look forward to trying them out. Have you used Celeia ?

Why did nobody ever notice the difference between different batches of "Styrian Goldings" before?
