I think I may have many friends this time next year seeing as it looks like the grape harvest will be pants this year  But then again the lack of sun is knackering my chilli collection too

If only I could source malt cheaply, `pils malt is great but it lacks something in a ale. I hoping warminster get back to me with their shipping options as I have a none english speaking microbrewer friend(the only one in the whole region, microbrewer not friend!!!) who is looking for a more diverse malt selection and I may be able to have a finders fee, heres hoping anyhow

Glad to see I'm not the only one! Marc Ollossen has been in touch to say my book has been posted today so I'll have more options to be paralysed with!
I thought it would get easier once I started on AG, it actualy makes it worse, this just adds to my what malts and hops to order, I have enough bits and pieces for one more 15l brew

It's a bit of a bummer really knowing you cant get malt over there,Why not go into business importing malt from britain and selling it on to the brewery's where you are  .
Glad to here your brew is comming along nicely.

Update

Well I think I have a infection

Elderflowery and hoppy on the nose, malty fruity and the eldflower hits you in the mouth, THEN..... you get a metalic of taste at the end which really lingers in the mouth. Part of me says bin it, and then part of me says bottle it in some 2l PET bottles and leave for 2months and see where I'm at.

The biggest pain is that I think I had a good level of elder to hop balance, and the level of crystal gives the beer good colour and lifts the pilsner malt.

Anyhow what do people think bin or bottle? there is no vinger taste but I think I have lunched it.

Metallic
Metallic flavors are usually caused by unprotected metals dissolving into the wort but can also be caused by the hydrolysis of lipids in poorly stored malts. Iron and aluminum can cause metallic flavors leaching into the wort during the boil. The small amount could be considered to be nutritional if it weren't for the bad taste. Nicks and cracks ceramic coated steel pots are a common cause as are high iron levels in well water. Stainless steel pots will not contribute any metallic flavors. Aluminum pots usually won't cause metallic flavors unless the brewing water is alkaline with a pH level greater than 9. Shiny new aluminum pots will sometimes turn black when boiling water due to chlorine and carbonates in the water.
I'd keep going and see what happens, if non of the above is applicable

Cheers vossy my house water is spring fed and there is high levels of ferrous oxide at times hmmm, and I did use a enamel pan for part of the boil.
