that was saturdays brew day at around 9 ish, i brew saturday mornings, starting at 5.50! done and wrapped up for about 11,
then i have the rest of the day to myself.

Brewtroller very good, only arrived a short while ago and been building a brand new rig to support it. 1st brew with it this morning, not fully automated just monitored. Going to be ordering the valves soon, probably get the pressure / volume sensors installed in the next week or so. Any questions pm me

My new mash tun and strainer made out of stainless steel braided hose with the middle ripped out. I've put pvc tubing inside the bit leading from the tap to the bottom of the mash tun to increase the syphon effect. Drains leaving 250ml of liquid when I tested it with some syphon tubing.

Will be tested this weekend with a Gob Hoblin kit from Barley Bottom



Not shown is the big dent on the bottom which was there when it arrived along with several small dings from the poorly wrapped tap rattling around inside

Not sure it was caused in transit. Anyone else had damaged / dented stuff from catering-service-fr ebay seller (I'm presuming it's nordic optical)? Thinking of complaining and asking for 25% discount or something.

Yes I remember a few with 'transit' damage and also a pinhole leaks or suspect weld iirc. I seem to remember a new pot was shipped with no need to return the damaged one. Worth a try but you must be prompt.

It might be a good idea to try and move the strainer away from the sides of your mashtun a litlle. Otherwise you may get poor efficiency, due to the sparge water channeling down the sides, staight into the strainer.

Maybe you could make a spiral nearer the centre, using a [food grade] ziptie or two?

I'm going to be batch sparging for now so hopefully it won't matter too much but if I can find a suitable way to do it by Saturday I might give it a go.
