Well by christ I've waited for this one, and at times it hurt but tonight it was time :D

I've not tried Traquair House Ale CB, but from what I've read on the forum this is quite close, if it is, I would love to try the real thing.

This is THE BEST ale I have made so far.
It's unfair to compare it to other pale ales I've made, so I won't

It's amazingly complex, rich, malt, chocolate, burnt sugar, bitter hops but smooth and even though it's incredibly strong it doesn't taste overly alcoholic, though you know it's there 8)

For some reason I didn't think it would be possible to create an ale like this at home and quite frankly I'm blown away

Even the wife is speechless with this one....or she soon will be

Enjoy the rewards for your effort 8)

Did you bottle a few to be had at crimbo? or have you got a cornie stashed in a out of sight corner?

Sounds great and do you reckon it will see out the month? Cause if it was in my house and tastes anyhting like THA, it would take a heck a lot of self control

P2, it really is a very good brew. If anyone were to brew this and say they weren't impressed I'd be very surprised.

I haven't bottled any, but I do have another corny untouched.

It's quite funny really, I can down the likes of Styrian Stunner in quantity and really enjoy it, but you know when you've got something special as you don't want to drink it in such large amounts :?

I've had 3 pints of this tonight and I'm completely satisfied, whereas if it were SS it would be more like 5 or 6 pints and "when you coming to bed" from the shadows...from she that has no name

At 3 pints a night this corny is doomed

I want to do an oatmeal stout next, or possibly a cherry stout (there on offer at T***o's, cherries that is), however I have no pale left ,and I want to do a strong ale again almost definately this one.....decisions....decisions

Did you do anything different from your normal routine?

Nope, but then again this is my first high gravity ale at 1070. All others have been light ales or are still maturing...

Yes I did say still maturing
