Considering how much cold break got carried over to fv the yeast head is pure white. I would have expected it to need skimming at the very least

Bit late now, but I've just re read this topic and noticed DaaB's comment about whirlfloc. I've then looked at 7's recipe (no mention of Irish Moss), and I've gone back through the archives.
Some people use it and some don't.
Should a hefe have any form of IM/Whirlfloc/protafloc added...for future reference

Guess who's had to clear yeast up from the carpet, in the understairs cupboard, and had to mop the yeast from the kitchen floor tiles tonight
Manslave of course
The yeast has really kicked off from early this am and it's now freely fermenting outside of the fv.
Lots of banana and spice, especially pepper...thing is Mrs V1 (in bed so I can type freely) hates banana

Did no one tell you that 3068 stinks to high heaven then?
Or the fact that you really need to ferment 25L in a 50L container?
Come on chaps, we really need to help people. . . . .Nah its more fun letting them find out for themselves

Took a sample jar tonight to check the gravity...like you do in order to try a sample
It's down to 1015 from 1042 and..... well....you swallow the beer and it's gone...naturally...but even at this stage it's very refreshing and seconds after you've swallowed it's like you haven't had any, so you have to try some more
I can see this isn't going to last long......3 days in the fermentor and it's future is under question

Are you sure you are allowed to check the sample - after all wasn't it Mrs V1's brew ?? Shouldn't She be the one checking this brew ?

Mrs V1 was at work at the time and no evidence remains
