Was still at 1016 when i got back from work so sanitised my paddle and gave it a gentle stir. have also put the heating on to see if i can warm it up from 18.

A fish tank heater keeps mine at the right temperature when the weather gets cold, plus you can set the temperature on it and it seems to do the job. Good to see you've broken your duckj anyway!

Buzz - The picture of the fermenter with the jacket on made me chuckle, I'm not sure why but it just tickled me!

I have contemplated an immersion heater, but my grand plan is to create a 'Jim's Cupboard' so i can brew in the garage.

I have my dad helping and we are using one of his old kitchen cupboards to do it with.

With this being my first beer i am still at the worry stage but i have found plenty of tips on here to get the fermentation going again, and have some dry beer enzyme if i get desperate!

I wish i hadn't metioned Turbo Cider to my girlfriend, she became interested and wants to see what random juices she can make alcoholic. I think there may be some 'dirty' experiments to come!

Well its been 24 hours since i stirred the yeast and its still on 1016.

Is it worth leaving it another day or should i just chuck a pack of dry beer enzyme in it now?

Its now about 2 days since i stirred up the beer and today there seems to be some white foam forming.

Am i right in thinking this is a sign that the fermentation may get going again?
