I've just taken a hydro of the Hens Tooth and it's dropped from 1060 to 1010.
It started on the 29th of August...this baby's on fire.

It doesn't taste as good as other brews even at this early stage. Got a feeling this ones for maturing ;)

I feel a drought coming on in the vossy houshold :o

The Hen's Tooth has stayed at 1010 so it's getting racked to secondary tomorrow.

I thought the ales smell was aweful at first but it's a lot better tonight.

I make this ale 6.5%abv....rocket fuel.

the worst thing about brewing......the waiting, t'ill ready to drink...torture :(

Like it Daab B)

You know, I think I've stumbled onto something I like, let me explain.

I've been drinking my beers too young. They tasted gr8 but I'm sure they would have been fantastic given the correct maturing.

This AG ale could be the kick up the backside that I've been needing.

Are there any ales that can be brewed, that don't taste prticularly nice at first, but mature into beautiful aged brews?

I think it would help me to respect the maturing time, more.

Vossy, you have at least 4 cornie kegs and possibly more that I don't know about.

If you have all 4 on the go at the same time then they will eventually mature :)

But, I know what you mean. I normally drink a keg in about 4 weeks by which time it is nicely matured and there is nothing left :(

This time, while I have an almost full keg, it should hopefully be mature by the time I get round to drinking it. It has already been maturing for about 3 weeks (with a couple of pints sampled) and this week I am detoxing (eating healthier and no beer - a hydro reading sample doesn't count). I am so looking forward to tasting a pint
