So i poured it into a pint glass to have a good slurp...
This is one of two pint glasses i have left

It's a pedigree glass and i love it. I will shed a tear when i eventually break this one.

A few seconds later the head had gone. Oh well. I didn't expect to produce a perfect pint straight off.

It tastes bloody great. So different to kits it's like comparing tuesday with a piece of string.
Not much hop flavour or aroma, a little watery but slips down with no probs. Actually it slips down rather well-i drank a fair amount on sunday whilst watching the Superbikes crash fest that was the first race, can't remember the second race too much actually.
Need to work on head retention. I guess i'll be ordering some wheat malt.

Just for quality control i tried one bottle of AG#2. No prob's with head retention there and not as watery. I think the head prob could be down to not rinsing the PET's well enough-or no rinse sod met?
I'm very very happy with the results of my first AG and can't wait to get some of my others down my neck.

As we have had a bad summer so far, my tanks are overflowing, i've plenty of water to rinse with. After AG#1 i have rinsed very well with fresh water. AG#2 doesn't seem to suffer the same lack of head retention.
Also the bottles were still a bit squashy on sunday? After my incident with forgetting to add priming sugars to my honey porter i added sugars and resealed the PETs. This worked very well but to get the caps off i had to pierce the lid to allow some pressure to escape. I think i have not screwed the caps on tight enough possibly allowing the CO2 to slowly escape. I've added another carb drop to the DaaB ale and the bottles are now firm and the head is much improved-as is the carbonation.
I really like this brew though. So much so that i've got through half of it since sunday

Who's Jason?
The wedding is what i'm supposed to be brewing for-mainly because i do like a beer or two but cannot stand commercial lager and i live in the land of the worlds worst commercial lager.

I wouldn't come back to England for anything.
If i got deported from here i'd go live in Mallorca again. Or Russia, Iraq, Ethiopia or Hell come to that.

It's well freaky that you can post stuff without being listed on the forum DaaB. Imagine a scared emoticon here.
