Managed a sneaky one in today.
Got the mash on before wife-to-be noticed then 'had to continue' and stuff could wait till tomorrow. It's sunday after all.

I didn't have enough stuff to match any recipe i fancied. :(
So i sort of copied AG#3 and utilised some NZ hops and done some experimental late hopping. [-o<

It was fun :D It went well 8) Had no dodgy taps to deal with. 8) 8)

Recipe
25ltr

4752g MO
99g Crystal
30g Choc*
90 min mash at 68C

Hops boil 90 mins
20g Green Bullet 13.2%

20g Nelson Sauvin last 15 mins.

20g Neson Sauvin for cooling period. Experimental bit.

Incidently, it seems i have lots of seeds in with my Nelson Sauvin flowers. So i've pulled a few out and am going to see if i can get them to go. 8)

Mash was spot on. No adjustment needed. 8)

I fly sparged and it went v well. :D I find it easier than batch sparging so i'm sticking to fly for the time being. 8) Nothing to report other than my new taps are luverly.

I got 22ltr in FV. 1045 OG. Tastes amazing

Hop strainer worked v well with flowers. 8) My clearest wort yet. :D

*= I cut the amount of choc in half, compared to AG#3, just to see what it would do to the colour.

That's a relief. It was a bit disconcerting that you hadn't brewed anything for...er...a couple of days

Is that why he's called "The Fish"?

Nice work!
You will keep NZ awash in beer.

For the record I thought AG #5 was brewed a couple of hours ago.

The busiest brewer in the Southern Hemisphere has been at it again  I was pondering on when a brewer drops the AG#n and starts creating beer names? I reckon its when you're into double figures; early March for MTF!

It's amazing how many 'very important business meetings' i've had to deal with lately.

AG#'s are easier than names.
Next one in a few days time...

Most of my brews just get a Gyle number generally of the form 20080225-01, sometimes there will be an -02 if I make a second beer from the mash. Nowadays I'm repeating recipes that I've done in the past and liked so they will get names, with the occasional new brew

SO when is AG#07 on, got to be to rough to go out there today

Where's the nearest HBS Martin?
Auckland looks to be about 120miles from your place.
