When we were Taipans

Post by AT » Thu Mar 20, 2008 7:40 pm

Well i woke this morning with the urge to brew some more so without any planning i started weighing grains and heating water. Here's what i made, 25 L at 1062
5kg Golden Promise
1KG Maris Otter
200 grm Biscuit Malt
250 grm Melanoidin Malt
400 grm Carapils
50 grm Roasted Barley
150 grm Chocolate Malt

52 grm Northdown 7.9% 60 mins
17 grm Syrians 15 mins
Protofloc 15 mins

Not quite sure how the syrians will work with the Northdown but it should be interesting

I had considered dumping this a while ago when keg space was getting tight but i just upped my drinking pace  Had a pint of it now and it is malt heaven and a beautiful dark ruby colour. A nice beer but patience needed, i think i'll brew this again, maybe in September with a bit of crystal malt and put it away for christmas.
