I did a brew today with what ingredients i had and it went well but doesnt look like i expected
Came out to 4.5%
20 litres
3.5kg Lager Malt
1.5kg Pale Malt
200g Crystal Malt
60g Hallertau (60mins)
15g Challenger (15mins)
Used Safale US-05 nicely rehydrated
Came out a nutty brown colour like some dark german beer.
Hopefully will turn out drinkable

That's the main thing. To me colour, etc is secondary. If it tastes ok it
is ok

I thought that about the last brew with US-05. Even when it had reached 1.006 there was a krausen of doom.
Hopefully will turn out a successfull 2nd batch

Took a reading yesterday and its down to 1.002!!!
I took a swift taste and its very..malty. But ok.
The colour is MUCH lighter, its almost totally lager coloured. Hopefully the crystal will of left a little of it's flavour.
I'lll give it until saturday to clear a bit more then keg it.

Yup tested again last night.
For sure between 1.002 and 1.004. It DID have a brewbelt on when i took this reading.
Is it possible that the brewbelt has influenced the reading as it has warmed the beer somewhat? I'm not exactly sure what temp it raises the beer to.
