Have a good night Wez. Nothing like a pint of BK to warm up these chilly spring evenings :D

I'm doing a Deuchars IPA clone, I'm just waiting for the wort to drop to 80C to dump the large amount of Aurora in, even dry they smell gorgeous

are you doing an hour mash/boil Wez?

I've just done that and the brew session has flown over.

You'll have to let us know how this one goes Garth, I 'popped' up to Leyland homebrew yesterday & amongst many other things got myself a pack of Aurora for just such a brew :D

Edit: Sorry for hijacking the thread Wez

It's great innit!

it wipes an hour straight off the session, on a weekend brewday I usually do a 90/90

Oh yeah it's great :D

RTD - Thats cool I'd like to do a Deuchars IPA myself, Garth maybe you could post the recipe?

I just took it from Steve's brewday thread and altered it slightly, 23 litres uses a Brupaks 100g pack of Aurora exactly, I hate little bits of hops left over that you can't do anything with. I'll probably go back on my words later in the year while I'm foraging for heather, nettles, bogweed and next door's grass cutings. :D

Deuchars IPA
23 litres
OG 1041

Golden Promise 4.07kg
Crystal 55L 110g
Torrified Wheat 130g

Fuggles 4.5%AA 55g 60min
Aurora 4.9%AA 15g 10min
Aurora 4.9%AA 85g 0min after 80C
Whirlfloc 1 tab 15 mins

I'm using WLP-001 (California Ale)

hmmm, just realised my Aurora were 4.9 and not the 8.6 they were supposed to be in the recipe, ah well who cares still should taste good.

RTD, What were the AA on your Aurora?

err I'm sorry for the hijack also Wez :D

Mine are exactly the same, Brupaks 2006 harvest 4.9%

FWIW I've noticed that I seem to be brewing the same recipe's that you do :o
