Due to various health issues I haven't brewed much in nearly 18 months (twice). Tomorrow I will be brewing a coffee stout and I don't care a lot how the brew day goes I am just glad to be able to be brewing again.
Since I am a bit rusty I expect things to go less than perfct.
Next five beers: coffee stout, best bitter, mild, honey pilsner and Aurora ale (blonde ale with lemon zest and rosemary instead of finishing hops).

but without the chaffing or greasy chain marks on your right trouser leg

Very true
Just tripple check your taps, and they will still undo themselves

Good luck with the brews.

It went pretty darn good.
I was shooting for a mash temperature of 152 f. and got 153 so no need to mess about. I wanted an o.g. of the low 1,040s and got 1.043.
I'll be racking to a secondary fermenter tomorrow.

I racked it last sunday and got a gravity reading of 1.015 which is a bit higher than I was hoping for, but not totally unexpected as my brew room is around 63 f and that is below the reccomended range. I plan to let it set in the secondary for a couple of weeks to see if it drops any more.

That should do the trick. Glad your back into brewing. I went 5 years without even looking at a boiler once!!!! Sure made up for it now though. Got it coming out my ears!!!!
