
I made a stout which I'm calling Virgin Brew
4Kg Pale crushed malt
500g Roast barley
500g Porrige oats
1.5 oz Fuggle hops full boil
1 oz Target hops full boil
A pinch of Protoflax final 15 mins
90 min mash
90 min boil
Yeast Safale 04
SG 1050 FG 1010

Grains in the mash tun @67c and left wrapped in a duvet for 90 mins

First runnings collected this until it was running clear

Filling up the boiler

Sparging via a watering can sparge water 80c

Hops ready to be added

Heating up nicely

Hops added to boiling wort

Boiling away and the house smells great

Draining into FV ready to cool

Cooled to 28c added yeast and stired like mad for 5 mins put the lid on and stored somwhere warm for the yeast to do its job
Just over six hours from start to finish and no problems and I'm well chuffed
